Hawaiian Lodge Masons participate in
Dr. Seuss Read-Aloud Program

Hawaiian Lodge members participated in the “Dr. Seus Read-Aloud Program” of Puuhale Elementary School on March 6. The program is in commemoration of the 108th birthday of Dr. Seuss, whose real name was Theodor Seuss Geisel, an American writer, poet and cartoonist, most widely known for his children’s books.

Volunteers read up to two books before big-eyed and excited children.

Hawaiian Lodge’s participation to the Read Aloud program demonstrates Freemasonry’s support for public education. History shows that Freemasons started some of the first public schools in America and advocated for legislation to help make education accessible to everyone.

The Hawaiian Lodge-Puuhale Elementary School partnership is an off-shot of a wholesome Great Aoha Run (GAR) collaboration that took place in February this year. /rll
